Our Bakery

Our at home bakery makes 100% vegan and cruelty free treats. From conchas to alfajores, child hood favorites are here.  We make conchas, cajeta, Mazapan conchas, custom decorated cookies, capirotada, volteados de piña, puerquitos, alfajores and more. We want to provide Pan dulce to vegans and to non vegans as well. We started this bakery in December 2019 and have been focused on improving our recipes and getting bigger ever since. We are located in East Los Angeles. East LA is filled with Mexicans, Latinos, immigrants, struggles, triumphs, ciudades, pueblos, culture and hard work and we want to proudly sell our vegan pan dulce in the place we live.

 

why

vegan?

Pan Dulce that is normally bought in stores sometimes contains animal milk, eggs, gelatin, honey and sometimes even lard or manteca. With this bread you can eat it guilty free knowing no animal had to be harmed in the making of it. I went vegan in Nov 2018 one month after my daughter. I wanted to find a way to incorporate my love for baking with veganism. I started with decorating cookies and slowly started baking pan dulce. Eating vegan is a way to live in peace with living beings who don't need and don't want to die. All our favorite foods can be veganized. Originally this small, at home bakery was called Cruelty Free Cookies by Mely and it has transformed into The Cruelty free Bakery.
